GEM SHOW PROGRESS

As of the end of July we have 36 of 56 sites booked and paid for by Traders or Tailgaters with several applications still waiting to arrive back in. There has been a stronger than usual call for “covered” or “internal” sites from Traders wishing to have that extra bit of security for their wares. About 3 Traders have been turned away which is unfortunate.

 We have had the burn-off implemented which has made the place look bigger and of course the levelling has made that little bit of extra room which will also allow those Tailgaters who want to camp on-site to do so behind their display. Bob Hyde and his band of helpers have been pouring water onto the grounds after seeding same. It is expected that in 3-4 weeks we will have an ocean of green out the back with all this attention.

 We still have some good positions available for those who would like to attend the Gem Show as exhibitors’ but unfortunately no definite lockable but we are working on trying to obtain the rooms used for yoga from the Arts Centre if possible. This would then give us another 4 lockable sites at least. We should know about those if available by the time this goes to print.

 With help from Phil Scutts and other people we are moving forward with advertising, radio interviews, banner erections (which we will need helpers for) and other areas of promotion in general.
